 | Bethesda Health Ministry | Bethesda is one of our latest ministries, started January of this year. Our goal is to promote health awareness and to educate our church and community about health issues and preventive medicine.
In February, we participated in our Church’s ministry fair, where our focus was on heart disease and diabetes. We distributed information packets relating both diseases. We also had blood pressure checks with one month follow ups to all that needed it. Additionally we gave out vials of life informative gift packs donated by Wal-Mart.
In the future we intend to conduct a mini health fair in the spring. On a larger scale, we are planning another health fair in the fall in conjunction with our Church Anniversary in October.
We want to target our teens and use hands on tools to educate them on issues of concern to them. For our Seniors, we want to motivate and promote the need for regular check-ups, monitor their medication and focus on all issues that concern and interest them.
This Ministry wants to promote holistic health awareness for all age groups. We will also take suggestions regarding issues that regard YOU. We will invite professionals, speakers and groups for special health issues and concerns.
Bethesda is currently comprised of health professionals and social workers. We are here to serve, our master, our church and our community. Remember, your body is your temple, let Bethesda help you take care of it.

 | First Choice | This Ministry originally was designed to offer the youth & young adults an Saturday Night Alternative to the temptations of this world. This ministry has evolved into something that every member young and old loves to participate in. We schedule several social events from Christmas plays to our annual Church Picnic, from All Saints Night to Movie Nights. In addition this year Pastor Akins has reserved every other month for a Saturday night service. The service enables the many Sons God has blessed us with, to have a platform on which they can preach the Word of God. This service also enables our Youth & Young Adult choir as well as other area choirs to sing the Glorious praises of God. Typically we end this fellowship in a local pizza parlor, donated by our gracious pastor (or whoever wears a tie to that service). So come on out and see what the Saturday Night Alternative is all about. Make First Choice your only choice.

 | Greater Vision Choir | Greater Vision is responsible for leading the worship and praise portion of our service through song. Greater Vision is dedicated first and foremost to the Lord and solely wants our “talk” to match our “walk”. We conduct short Bible lessons before every practice, along with praise reports and/or prayer request. We take our ministry outside to the community and at times no singing is required at all. We love all that we do, but the most rewarding task any of us could undertake is praising our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Come join us every Tuesday night at 6:30pm for rehearsal.

 | Nursery | The nursery is designed to help alleviate some of the distractions that occur during the Sunday morning worship service. Babies and toddlers need a location where they can be babies and toddlers and the nursery is designed to meet that need. We have skilled and qualified workers that love working with infants and toddlers. The babies are fed and changed on demand and the toddlers are given a snack and drink. The toddler room is equipped for children between the ages of walking to 3 and the infant room is designed for babies 6 weeks to walking. Both directors stress and enforce an open door policy where any parent can come and shadow their child at anytime during the church service. We are always looking for volunteers and welcome all babies and children. If interested in working in the nursery, or want more information regarding the structure, and the policies, please contact Alicia Newby or Alicia Coleman by e-mail.

 | Singles' Ministry | "Single, Saved and Satisfied,"
this is the mantra that guides the Singles' Ministry at First Baptist
Bracktown. In the time in which we are single, we show our highest level of availability to God. And as such, the goal of the Singles' Ministry is to cultivate our relationship with God during this time, in an effort to better prepare ourselves for the time that God chooses to bring our mate to us.
This ministry is very active in the life of the church, initiating such activities as monthly outreach efforts, Bible studies, and outings in the community. Meetings are held every Wednesday at 6 P.M. All singles of the church, and surrounding churches are encouraged to take part in this vibrant ministry and learn how to be single, saved and satisfied!!
